Inhabiting the rich, shifting ecologies of the Pacific Northwest and living in a body exiting its reproductive cycle, the ceramic process has allowed me to birth seeds, pods, flowers and vessels. These creations are the offspring of the delicate relationship between the inner and outer space I occupy. I embrace imperfect reproduction through repetitively hand building petals and appendages. As I create sculptures and objects based on the reproductive cycle of nature, I trace the circular process of life and death. Embracing the fool, my ceramics traces this cycle and the adventure in taking risks, even if brief or uncertain.

I find freedom through creation and have a lifelong passion for artistic exploration. I am deeply curious about diverse mediums and am enjoying my foray into clay and fire. This journey has been shaped by a continual dialogue with professional artists, and I’ve been lucky to learn from local ceramicists in Oregon.
